Buzz |
Buzz arrived at the Refuge as a stray, and nobody came forward to claim him. He was a bright dog and very friendly, so was soon selected for training as a Hearing Dog. Buzz sailed through his training and was matched to a lady. They formed a firm partnership and Buzz accompanies her to work in London every day. He helps her by alerting her to every day noises like the door bell and the telephone that hearing people take for granted. Buzz helps his new partner to live and work independently. He became a fully qualified Hearing Dog in June 2006 In 2008 Buzz retired from work as a full time Hearing Dog. Now he is used as a demonstration dog withing his field, helping new recruits learn the required skills and setting the standards for the next generation of Hearing Dogs. He is very happy and settled in his new role and his new home. |
