Poppy |
Poppy was found abandoned in a park in Carlisle in 2
004. She had suffered inhumane neglect and was hours from death due to neglect and starvation.
Poppy was so weak she could barely stand and swayed on her feet when unsupported. Her body was also covered in open and infected sores which added to her discomfort when she lay down.
Moya Pullan, a Trustee of the Refuge fostered Poppy and gave her the treatment she so desperately needed. With Poppy's strong will to live she slowly regained her strength and weight. Her sores healed though she may be scarred for the rest of her life.

Today, Poppy is living in a wonderful home. She is now back to full health and living life to the full.
